The Mountaineer Emergency Services Academy is a week-long learning experience for 12 -17 year olds who are interested in emergency medical services, fire-rescue, policing, emergency management and healthcare. The Academy's mission is to inspire the next generation of public service professionals engaged in emergency service, healthcare and community leadership.

Participants will also learn about the incident command system: A flexible, standard response and management approach used by emergency responders across the Country.
Examples of other topics that students will explore include:
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) use, and Stop the Bleed training (students will receive a HeartSaver CPR certification card, included in registration fee).
- Patient assessment processes
- Emergency medical and special equipment introductions and demonstrations
